Boneshaker | Big Boned Bones!

Boneshaker is a 2008 gelding by Stravinsky (USA) who had 34 starts on the track. Trained under Justine Erkelens and Neil Biggs for three wins, six seconds and two thirds, Boneshaker earnt $67,264 in total. He retired in late 2015 and was spelled for several months before being rehomed.

In January of 2017, Nicky Cresswell purchased “Bones” straight off the track from trainer, Neil Biggs. Nicky’s first impression of Bones was that he was a capable, sharp, and anxious individual, with big and strong movements. Nicky began retraining Bones on Esperance beaches, learning an incredible amount from each other in the process.

“It took him a while to relax, but he has a gentle and loving personality. He is easiest to please at breakfast and dinner time and loves his hay and carrots. Bones is never happier than when he is eating!” Nicky explained.

Together, Bones and Nicky have developed a firm partnership. Bones has grown from a tense and anxious horse to one Nicky can comfortably take anywhere and do anything with. The pair compete at adult riders, local events and have evented. This year, Nicky aims to improve her show jumping with Bones and enjoys every minute of riding him regardless of placings.

Bones lives alongside Tranquil Charlie, who Nicky also rehomed after racing. To read Charlie’s story, click here –> https://bit.ly/41bYmxW
