Off the Track WA Community Fund

Eligible Projects/Programs:

To be eligible for the OTTWA Community Fund, projects and programs must involve standardbred and/or thoroughbred horses that have retired from the racing or breeding industries.

The 2027 OTTWA Community Fund invites applications for projects aligning with one or more of the following:

1. Increasing accessibility to equine therapy programs and equine assisted learning programs.
2. Community organisations undertaking a project that directly improves welfare outcomes for off the track horses, including specialists delivering training to groups of staff/volunteers to enhance their skills in horse husbandry and care.
3. Self-funded groups that are registered charities caring for OTT horses, providing a safety net for retired racehorses that have become vulnerable or at risk. Eligible costs include where horses may require veterinary treatment, specialist medication or other professional services e.g., dentistry, farrier, bodywork. Please refer to the additional information sheet for charities.

Criteria:

1. 1. Have an Australian Business Number (ABN).
   2. Be located in the state of Western Australia.
   3. Demonstrate a commitment to retired racehorses as a component of their business.
   4. Not have an existing partnership or funding agreement with Racing and Wagering WA of Off the Track WA.
   5. Have a minimum of $10 million in public liability insurance and be able to provide a certificate of currency.
   6. Be the owner of retired racehorses and be willing to obtain an OTTWA Passport for all retired racehorses involved in their project.
