Description:

RACING:
Honcho retired sound last year. He was a successful racehorse with 9 wins, 20 places from 95 starts, earnings over $100k and a 1.53 mile rate!!! (Honcho was FAST). He was in the Golden Slipper, WA Derby and Battle Of Bunbury field and won the Western Crown.

TYPE AND RIDDEN HISTORY:
Honcho is show horse pretty. He has beautiful straight legs, a big round butt, excellent confirmation, a lovely personality and a seriously long mane when left to grow (who says standies all have Bert from Sesame Street forelocks!) He was ridden in his race training about 18months ago and has been retired from racing for about 8months so as such, he is sold as is. I am unable to ride him as we do not have the facilities. He has no bolt/buck/rear that we have seen but isn’t suited to a beginner or novice. He hasn’t done any arena work but he’s pretty smart and likes to please so he’s basically a broken in blank slate for you to put your mark on.

He’s been to 1 in-hand show where he came 3rd in the standardbred class and 2nd in the hack class against strong opposition – it was his first show and first experience at an ag-show so for the first half of the day, wanted to look at everything going on. I could see him doing well in ridden classes in the future.

AROUND THE STABLE:
Honcho is easy to catch/shoe/float/do his teeth/rug/worm/wash etc. and he’s good in a herd. He has a naturally shiny and short coat (currently unrugged) which gleams when he’s in work. He’s a good doer too and eats everything up. He has no bad vices on the ground.

Price is negotiable, but as our horses are our babies, home is not. One and done would be perfect!
