Beerbohm Tree | Quirky and Talented Impazzire

This 2000 Royal Academy gelding began his racing career in 2003. Beerbohm Tree was trained and raced in Victoria under John Symons before making the move across to Western Australia in 2006. Beerbohm Tree was picked up by Neville Parnham, who trained the gelding throughout 2006 before retiring him that December with a career of $44,700 in earnings, 37 starts and five wins.

Beerbohm Tree entered the Fraser family at the age of fourteen, having jumped and evented with his previous owner. Coming into work after several months out in the paddock, Angus and “Impazzire” quickly became a formidable team, progressing through the heights to reach 1.3m classes, two star eventing heights, and wins at events such as the 2019 Perth Royal Show, the 2018 WA State Show Jumping Championships, the 2018 Young Rider State Championships and State Pony Club Championships, were they were also awarded the High-Point Off the Track Award and Bridget Woss award. Impazzire travelled across Australia, representing WA at Interschool Nationals and the Australian Show Jumping Championships, all without missing a beat.

“It was very satisfying to have an older thoroughbred who could go out and be super competitive against purpose bred and fancy warmbloods,” said Louise. “I think the morale of this story is never overlook an “old” horse. They can be the absolute best finds ever!”

Following a successful career with Angus, Impazzire was leased out to young rider, Charlee Morton-Sharp with the intention to progress Charlee further into the show jumping scene. Ringo, as he is named around the stables, became a member of Charlees team in 2020. After leasing the gelding for some time, Louise Fraser gifted Impazzire to Charlee knowing that they would provide him with the perfect home. Impazzire was eighteen years old at the time and had developed a reputation for his quirky antics and mile-long resume. It was determined that if Charlee was willing to stick with him through his cheeky personality, Impazzire would be the horse to teach her a wealth of knowledge and experiences.

Onboard Impazzire, Charlee was launched into the world of competitive show jumping. Despite being in his twenties, Impazzire continued to prove himself as a powerful competitor in the arena and earnt himself the top spot in the stables, with the rest of the farm revolving around his desires. Linda and Charlee are proud owners and riders of many off the track horses, with Ringo claiming his rightful top dog position.

Together, Charlee and Impazzire have had a fantastic career, with a recent win in the Quickmail Open Speed class at Yalambi Easter Classic. Ringo and Charlee also completed their first 125cm Young Riders class at Yalambi, and represented Australia in an International Virtual Pony Club Show Jumping Competition in which they were the only combination to place individually. Impazzire and Charlee also competed at the 2021 and 2022 Equestrian in The Park event, which Charlee accredits as being one of their many greatest achievements together. The pair are aiming for the Young Riders classes this year at the Perth Royal Show and will be competing at the Perth Show Jumping League event in a few weeks’ time.

“Ringo truly is a once in a lifetime horse. He has made so many of my dreams come true and continues to do so. While he can be naughty, he has taught me more than I ever thought possible, and is every little girls dream,” said Charlee.

OTTWA wish Impazzire / Beerbohm Tree / Ringo and Charlee, all the best for a happy and exciting career together.
