A Clinic Enjoyed By All – Including Skippy the Kangaroo

Our March clinic was well attended with lessons filling quickly and riders leaving with tired smiles. A local kangaroo even tried to join in, momentarily disrupting the morning lessons. Thankfully the horses weren’t bothered by the intruder and returned to their learning shortly after his departure.

A massive thank you to our expert coaches, Krystal Wang, Wendy Barker, and Elizabeth Tollarzo for guiding 35 retired racehorses through a day of learning and growth. Amongst them were three rehomed OTTWA graduates, including Seeknyoushallfind, affectionately known as Seeky. He made great use of his three FREE clinic vouchers and is really starting to build a partnership with new owner, Chris.

We also welcomed Amelia and Jenna (daughters of jockey coach and former jockey, Peter Hall) who brought along their retired racehorses, Home James and Ulusaba. With racing in their DNA, it’s wonderful to see their love for thoroughbreds continuing beyond the track.

The day’s top earner was Swear to God, a Playing God gelding with an impressive $342,000 in lifetime earnings. Meanwhile, Sessions Star, who retired from racing back in January of 2026, enjoyed exploring further into her new off the track career. Clinics like these play an important role in helping horses transition into new routines, disciplines, and environments.

Despite the warm weather, riders achieved milestone after milestone, making the day a rewarding experience. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again at our next clinic on April 18, hosted at Murray Regional Equestrian Centre.
