Yalambi Easter Jumping Classic

Set at the picturesque facilities of Yalambi Farm Stud, Off the Track WA proudly sponsored four classes at the Yalambi Easter Autumn Jumping Classic.

82 retired racehorses competed at this event, with 61 Thoroughbreds bred here in Western Australia.

The combined total earnings from the racehorses who competed at this event was approximately 4 million dollars, with the highest earning horse being Platoon, who earned 800k.

The following sires had multiple of their progeny competing:

My Admiration, Blackfriars, Cape North, Dick Turpin, Key Business, Maschino, Patronize, Redoute’s Choice, Trade Fair and Vital Equine.

Off the Track WA sponsored the following classes: OTT 1.10-1.15m, OTT 1m, OTT 80cm, OTT 90cm.

In the OTTWA 1.10-1.15m class on the main arena, thirteen retired racehorses competed.

The class was won by OTTWA Retrainer, Tegan Cook and her wonderful Thoroughbred gelding, Lyrical Discourse (Discorsi x Harping – known as Moet – zero starts on the racetrack)

Second was secured by fellow OTTWA Retrainer, Michael Dagostino and his big black gelding, Steel Business (Key Business x Smile Swiftly – known as Jet – 25 racing starts for $30k)

It is great to see our retrainers receiving successes with their personal horses. The remaining places were awarded to the following horses:

Third – Sara Mullins and Key Emblem (Key Business x Ladieyre – known as Wiz – three racing starts for $0)

Fourth – Katja Weidenschlager and Glenbaile Half Pint (Bearcat x Sincerity – known as Bijouz – unnamed and unraced)

Fifth – Nicole Kopke and Inner Viking (Murtajill x Countess Bathory – known as Viking – 25 racing starts for $35k)

Sixth – Jaime Hall and Conrad’s Mission (My Admiration x Quality Spirit – known as Conrad – eight racing starts for $4k)

In the OTT 1m class, twelve retired racehorses were entered.

The class was won by Thea Garner and Jonina’s Empire, a 2001 Second Empire gelding. Jonina’s Empire raced in 16 starts for one win and retired from racing in 2007.

Second was awarded to Charlotte Caldwell and Cernobbio (Frankel x Love is Blindness – unraced)

Third – Indie Smyth and Nancy’s Angel (Mr Prosperous x Fibre Optic – known as Cody – 16 racing starts for $1.2k)

Fourth – Jasmin Holland and Seattle Sound (Amercain x Not Jude’s Choice – known as Connor – 11 racing starts for $16.5k)

Fifth – Isla Bolton and Match My Speed (My Atacanta x She’s Gogo – known as Benny – unraced)

Sixth – Tim Ellis and Take the Stand (Star Witness x Blushful – known as Bluey – 13 racing starts for $19k)

In the OTT 90cm, fourteen retired racehorses were entered.

The class was won by Lily Bolt and Little Dance, a 2004 mare by Irish sire, Citidancer. Little Dance raced twice before retiring in 2011.

Second went to Emily Billing and Freedomeofthepress (Press Statement x Risktaker – known as Freo – 18 racing starts for $20k)

Third – Caitlin Pritchard and Run For Winnie (Vital Equine x Aunty Winnie – nine racing starts for $1.3k)

Fourth – Indie Smyth and Superior Smile (Patronize x Soldier’s Smile – 70 racing starts for $346k)

Fifth – Alana Stagg and Sylva Terre (Patronize x McMindy – known as Luna – 29 racing starts for $35k)

Sixth – Tegan Cook and Platoon (Playing God x Oriel – known as Neville – 54 racing starts for $800k)

In the OTT 80cm, sixteen retired racehorses were entered.

The class was won Lily Bolt and Little Dance, winners of the 90cm class as well.

Second – Priya Hodges and Watchdog (Helmet x Safe – 19 racing starts for $162k)

Third – Indie Smyth and Superior Smile

Fourth – Jasmin Holland and Seattle Sounds

Fifth – Ruth Elsegood and Il Righello (Universal Ruler x Red Door – known as Charlie – unraced)

Sixth – Mailaryce Musca and Imperial Grand (Hotel Grand x Thunderclap – known as Perry – 33 racing starts for $60k)
