Unnamed – Pryzwin | Rudey Excels with Serena.

Pryzwin was first retrained and competed up to EvA80cm eventing by his former owner, Katelyn Shearer, before being purchased by the Smith Family in 2021.

Named around the stables as “Rudey”, Pryzwin was purchased for young rider, Serena Smith, to teach her the ropes of eventing as she transitioned from being a successful show horse rider, to aspiring eventer. Rudey and Serena began their competition career together in early 2022, after using the first few months of their partnership to build a connection. Despite some struggles throughout their initial stages, particularly in the cross-country phase, Rudey and Serena have since excelled in the eventing scene and have rocketed through the levels from 65cm to one star competition in a year.

“It took us about six months to finally work each other out to now be able to go around clear at every event,” Serena said.

Throughout 2023, Pryzwin and Serena Smith have had a very consistent year, winning the Junior 95cm class at both the 2023 Perth Horse Trials Wooroloo CNN and Harvey CCN, placing as the Best Performed Off the Track combination at WAYER International Horse Trials in the Junior 95cm, and placing consistently within the top three at EWA Interschool State Championships. They also placed fourth in their first One Star start at Brigadoon 1 CCN and have been accepted into Interschools Nationals, representing Western Australia as a team. This year, Serena aims to improve their show jumping phase, and hopes to compete at Equestrian in the Park. Long term, they aim to reach Two Star and to compete at Melbourne International Three-Day Event.
