Reba Dawn | Have Faith in Little Faith
Reba Dawn is a 2018 born mare by sire, Shalaa. Having never raced, Reba Dawn has no racing history and instead was ‘retired’ direct to equestrian pursuits. Owned initially by Danielle Foley, in 2023 Reba Dawn was purchased by Christine and Michaela Earnshaw.
“When I first saw Faith, I instantly fell in love with her,” Michaela recalls.
Although very green, Faith won the heart of Michaela. After a rocky start to their partnership, Michaela and Christine worked hard to prepare Faith for her new off the track career. Once fit and ready to begin learning, Faith proved to be very willing to please. With perseverance, Michaela and Faith established an understanding of each other and began working towards learning how to jump.
“She didn’t know how to pick herself up over a jump in the beginning but is now happy to jump and show us her full potential.”
Faith is described as having a big personality and isn’t afraid to let everyone know who is boss. She enjoys her human company and is very curious and eager to explore. She loves cuddles, attention, and carrots more than anything.
Michaela was proud to let us know that Faith has been consistently scoring above 60% in her dressage tests, and although green and still learning, has a bright future ahead of her. In 2025. Michaela hopes to re-introduce Faith to cross country and begin competing and gaining back their confidence. In the longer term, Michaela hopes to continue to have fun with Faith and looks towards a career in show jumping and eventing.
Off the Track WA wish Reba Dawn and Michaela all the best with their future together. Faith and Michaela are just one of the many pony club combinations competing on a retired racehorse.
