As we move into the New Year, many riders will be looking towards the upcoming competition season with their off the track mounts and planning ahead. Before the season is underway, many horse owners utilize the break as an opportunity to ensure horses are fit and ready for the upcoming season.

How to prepare for 2024 with your horses:

  • Ensure your horses teeth are up to date by booking in a dental appointment. Luckily, several of our Herd Hero friends offer discounts to off the track owners.
  • Ensure your saddle is fitted to accommodate any muscle lost over the break. Saddle fit is imperative for a happy and healthy horse.
  • Book a veterinary appointment to have your horse checked over. It is best to catch any minor issues that may have arisen before the season has begun.
  • Plan out your year ahead by penciling in any events you may wish to attend. Preparing in advance is the best way to ensure you have everything ready for the season.
  • Ensure your off the track horses have their OTT Passport ready to go for entry into all of the exciting events sponsored throughout the year.
  • Renew Memberships with competitive clubs and associations such as Equestrian Western Australia. Off the Track Passport holders receive many exciting benefits through becoming a Equestrian WA Member, thanks to our Principal Partnership.
  • Keep an eye on our OTTWA Socials to ensure you stay up to date on upcoming clinics and events.
We look forward to seeing everyone out and about throughout the 2024 season.
