OTTWA Feature | Retired Racehorses in Show Jumping

Off the Track WA is proud to support retired racehorses competing in the discipline of Show Jumping. In 2023, 412 off the track horses competed in show jumping arenas sponsored by OTTWA. We hope to see many retired racehorses continuing to compete!

What is Show Jumping?

In Jumping, horses and riders are required to complete a course of 10 to 13 jumps with the intention to finish the sequence with no penalties – a clear round. If poles are knocked, or horses refuse to jump, this incurs penalties to the final score.

What makes Retired Racehorses suitable for Jumping?

“Retired racehorses are great show jumpers because they are honest and have big competitive hearts.”

“Retired racehorses are fantastic show jumpers because they are athletes, agile, and move quickly.”

“Retired racehorses are suitable for show jumping because they always ready for a challenge.”
