Melbourne International Three-Day Event 2026

This event is a thrill for eventing enthusiast and the off the track community each year. With over a hundred retired racehorses entered to compete in Melbourne, including eight of our own West Australian competitors, Melbourne International Three-Day Event is a highlight of the season!

CCI4*-L Pryde’s EasiFeed

With a well ridden dressage test backed up by a double clear cross-country round, Charlee and Super Maxi finished fifth in their first 4*L start; a huge achievement for a young aspiring rider and her self-trained retired racehorse.

An unfortunate slip led to the wise decision to retire Out of Line out on course. Thankfully, Riley and Arnie are safe and looking forward to more starts when they return home.

“We are immensely proud of the round they produced, and their performance was nothing short of exceptional.”

SunSupernatural and Sarah Dawson returned to Melbourne after an extended hiatus. The last time this combination competed at Melbourne was 2016 in the 2*. Sarah and ‘Imposing’ finished in thirteenth place.

The 4*L class featured two retired racehorses in the top five; Wu Gok in second and Super Maxi in fifth.

CCI2*-L Off the Track

Riley Lyall had another super run with young gelding, Order is Restored, finishing in sixth place on their dressage score.

“He tackled the course with confidence and determination, and we couldn’t be prouder of his performance.”

Blue Prints and Joanne Madaffari had an unfortunate run, with difficulties in cross-country and several rails in the show jumping knocking them down the placings. Thankfully, they return home safe and ready to continue. This was their first time competing at Melbourne which is an achievement in itself!

The top ten in the 2*L class featured Great One in second and Order is Restored in sixth.

Ella McCrum and Thunder God had an exciting competition with a clear cross-country round with minor time penalties, and double clear show jumping. Ella and Alfie were one of few with clear show jumping, helping them shift into ninth place! Congratulations Ella on a super result!

Dawson’s second horse, Nobel Laurence, competed in the Off the Track 1*L and the MI3DE Yulong Stud Rising Stars Challenge to claim fourth place amongst a field of strong competitors. Congratulations to Sarah on her Rising Star achievement.

Pride of Merisi, Charlee’s second mount, competed in the Off the Track 1* class to finish safely with experience gained. Vegemite also competed in the Young Horse 100cm six-year-old class to finish tenth.

The Off the Track 1*L hosted a field of 33 retired racehorses, with Zaaki placing in third behind Shenae Lowing’s second mount, Wollombi Baxter.
