Comfort Me | Off the Track Story

Racing bid Comfort Me a happy retirement back in December of 2025. Since then, he’s been turning his hooves to a new career chasing down more wins.

Having earned $1.7 million in prize money, ‘Ratty Two’ is known for putting a smile on people’s face; whether it’s his trainer, strapper, owners, jockey or the punters, Ratty knows how to please. That winning streak hasn’t fizzled out, with Comfort Me recently claiming his first off the track achievement!

Competing at only his second eventing start at Murray Eventing CCI-s with Kariss Whitfield, his racing strapper and partner to trainer, Rhys Radford, Ratty continues to surprise his connections. Competing against a field of 32 starters, Ratty once again came out on top to win the OTT 65cm class, proudly sponsored by Off the Track WA.

It might not be the same glitz and glamour of a racing win, but this does mark a super new chapter in Comfort Me’s life. He’s now tackling a new career in eventing (dressage, jumping and cross country) and clearly enjoying himself along the way. Not to mention, he gets to continue his success with the same people who cared for him throughout his racing career. Congratulations to Kariss for her efforts in retraining this powerhouse of a horse. We’re sure there are many Comfort Me fans who will be thrilled to see that he continues to bring his best to the competition.

Comfort Me is just one of many retired racehorses excelling in equestrian sports. Thoroughbreds are the ultimate athletes on AND off the track!
