Brigadoon CCI + Patrons Cup Show Jumping
Off the Track WA were thrilled in October to sponsor another Patrons Cup weekend of show jumping followed by EWAP’S Brigadoon CCI event. Each event saw retired racehorses excelling in their disciplines.
WASJA Patrons Cup weekend hosted 79 retired racehorses competing across three days of competition. Off the Track WA sponsored four OTT exclusive classes, from 75cm to 110cm. Results are as follows:

Additional off the track highlights included Out of Line and Riley Lyall winning the Under 25 120cm final against several warmbloods and fellow off the track, Thunder God (who placed in third!). Jonina’s Empire and Thea Garner also won the Horseland Midland 104cm class.
The next weekend, Brigadoon CCI was hosted by Eventing WA Promotions (EWAP) at the State Equestrian Centre. With 103 retired racehorses entered, this was another full weekend of competition for off the track riders. OTTWA sponsored three exclusive classes, with Best Performed awards offered in the star classes.

Best Performed Off the Track Horses:
- Ocean’s Fifteen and Kate Alexander – CCN1*-S (placing fourth)
- Pryzwin and Serena Smith – CCN1*-S Junior (placing second)
- Lyrical Discourse and Tegan Cook – CCI2*-S (Class Winner)
- Out of Line and Riley Lyall – CCI3*-S (Class Winner)
The 2* class was dominated by off the track horses with the top three being retired racehorses, and fifth to seventh. The EvA95 Junior class also filled with retired racehorses, with Pride of Merisi winning with Charlee Morton-Sharp and second, fourth and fifth place secured by off the track horses. The EvA80 Junior had second and third claimed by retired racehorses, with Demi Go Round and Not an Act placing. Woki Warrior placed third in the Ev65 Junior.
Overall, these two events were super opportunities to witness retired racehorses excelling in their second careers. We are proud to have sponsored these classes and events to provide opportunities and promote retired racehorses in performance homes.
