CELESTIAL HONOUR
At 21 years young, Celestial Honour has lived an exciting life. After twelve racing starts under trainer Dixie Solly, Celestial Honour traded country racing to step into a new career.
Despite Taylor Maddison listing ‘no bays or thoroughbreds’ on her wanted advertisement, fate had other plans. Having moved from racing straight into a polo career, ‘Tallulah’ was green to other equestrian disciplines but incredibly well travelled and experienced.
“She’s been a great confidence booster for me as she’s been exposed to a lot during her 17-year polo career,” Taylor shared.
“She was very successful at polo, winning champion pony multiple times and in her first year of polo, winning WA Novice Horse.”
Strong-willed and opinionated, convincing Tallulah to take things easy and enjoy a slower pace proved to be their biggest challenge. Having since found their rhythm, Tallulah has exceeded expectations and is lucky enough to remain agisted with her previous owners who help guide and support Taylor and Tallulah whenever needed.
“I lack confidence sometimes, especially after having a ten-year break from horses and riding, but Tallulah has been exactly what I needed,” Taylor admitted. “She doesn’t have a nasty bone in her body, though she does need a competent rider.”
“Sometimes I wish she would act her age but all in all, she’s a very safe and well-rounded ride.”
Taylor joked that Tallulah is a chestnut mare on the inside, and bay on the outside. Their partnership has helped Taylor return to horses, rewarding them with confidence and successes.
Celestial Honour is a testament to longevity and heart. We wish Taylor and Tallulah all the best for their rest of their partnership.
