Sirius Star | Off the Track Story
Sirius Star began his racing career in late 2021. Trained by Yannick Valenti, Sirius Star started in five races before retiring. With an unsuccessful and short career, Sirius Star was ready to begin an off the track career.
Purchased direct from racing connections sight unseen, ‘Teddy’ entered the loving home of Tracy Lambert. Attracted by the versatility and trainability of a retired racehorse, Tracy was excited to begin her journey introducing Teddy to an off the track career in dressage and show horse. Since then, Teddy has taken to the discipline quickly.
“Teddy is easy to train as he loves to learn. We are currently competing Novice and training Elementary.”
Teddy has achieved many successes since abandoning the racing lifestyle. Tracy fondly recalls several wins throughout their partnership, including Champion Show Horse at the 2024 Mount Barker Show, Champion Show Horse at the 2024 Albany Agricultural Show, Encouragement Horse of the Year at Albany’s Horseman and Official Horse of the Year at Albany Agricultural Show in 2025. They have also scored over 75% in their preliminary dressage tests and consistently score over 65% in their novice.
“Teddy’s very special to me as he’s not just my sand dancing partner but also my buddy.”
Tracy hopes to take Teddy to the State Dressage Championships in 2026 and aspires to move up the grades to eventually compete in Advanced classes.
Thank you to Tracy for sharing Teddy’s story with us. We look forward to following along with his dressage career!
