Strawberry Mist | Off the Track Story

Pretty mare, Strawberry Mist, began her extensive racing career in 2020. By Trade Fair, this dappled filly raced for 47 starts with trainer and owner, Phillipa Elliot. With four wins and seven placings, Strawberry Mist retired from racing in 2024 with approximately $110,000 in lifetime earnings.

Retired and ready to begin her next career, Strawberry Mist was introduced to young rider, Imogen Hill. Purchased fresh off the track, Misty joined forces with Imogen with aspirations to become an eventer. Misty took some time to warm up to Imogen but eventually came around and has proven to be a sweet mare.

“Once we started to click and understand each other, she was super to work with.”

“She took to jumping very quickly and worked hard in the dressage arena. She tries so hard for me!”

Imogen highlights the trust and connection that she has built with Misty as her greatest accomplishment. After her initial cold shoulder, Misty has come around and placed her heart in Imogen’s hands, trying incredibly hard to please and succeed in their goals. Imogen would love to get Misty out to more eventing starts, progressing through the levels. With Trade Fair blood, Strawberry Mist will join a long list of progeny in the eventing discipline.

Thank you to Imogen for sharing Misty’s story so far!
