Event Sponsorship

Off the Track WA (OTTWA) is dedicated to promoting the competitive use of retired racehorses in equestrian sports across Western Australia. Each year, we proudly sponsor hundreds of metropolitan and regional equestrian events, showcasing the versatility of Standardbreds and Thoroughbreds as both pleasure and competitive animals.

Our sponsorship is open to all equestrian disciplines, emphasizing the significant role that clubs and organizations play in this initiative. By supporting these events, OTTWA connects and supports a large variety and number of off the track horse owners and riders. OTTWA would like to acknowledge the important role the clubs and organisations receiving this sponsorship play in achieving this.

Event Sponsorship Applications open November 3rd and close December 15th 2025.

  • Bronze Sponsorship

    For all events providing support and promotion of retired racehorses in performance homes. All new applications are automatically accepted as Bronze. Rosettes and prizes provided by OTTWA.

  • Silver Sponsorship

    For events who expect a representation of at least 15% of retired racehorses and are willing to host off the track exclusive classes. Rosettes and prizes are provided by OTTWA | Option for custom rugs and trophies | Up to $1,500 of sponsorship towards running of the event | Up to $1,500 of prize money for OTTWA classes/horses | Optional: subsidy of 30% off the entry costs of OTTWA competitors who travel 150km or more to attend the event

  • Gold Sponsorship

    For events who expect a high representation of retired racehorses (over 15%) willing to host off the track exclusive classes. For championship and international/national qualifiers and high-end events | Rosettes and prizes provided by OTTWA | Option for custom rugs, trophies and garlands | Up to $2,500 of sponsorship towards running of the event | Up to $2,500 of prize money for OTTWA classes/horses | Optional: subsidy of 30% off the entry costs of OTTWA competitors who travel 150km or more to attend the event.

Provide Event Feedback

Sponsorship Tiers & Travel Rebates

There are three sponsorship levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold. All information regarding these levels can be found in the Event Sponsorship Criteria linked below.

The participant numbers and off the track representations will determine the sponsorship tier, prize money and sponsorship value that OTTWA provides.

Gold and Silver events may be eligible to offer travel rebates, designed to encourage and support rider’s travelling from regional areas, or to regional areas.

Application Terms

Applications outside of the application period will not be accepted.

  • If the event does not have as many entries as you anticipated and you have prizes that are not awarded, these must be returned to OTTWA.
  • If the event does not have any off the track horses attend, all prizes must be returned to OTTWA. Note this may impact the level of sponsorship and/or value of prizing provided for future events.
  • If you event is postponed or cancelled for any reason, you must notify OTTWA as soon as possible by emailing offthetrackwa@rwwa.com.au

Competitors

The following information is relevant to all those with a retired racehorse competing at an OTTWA Sponsored Event.

To learn which events have been sponsored by Off the Track WA, check the calendar provided.

Provide Feedback

This feedback is used to improve the support provided by Off the Track WA to competitors with a retired Thoroughbred or Standardbred. If actively competing a retired racehorse, please do help us by providing feedback!

Provide Competitor Feedback

Those travelling over 150km to compete at select events may be eligible for the Off the Track WA travel rebate. This provides competitors with a 30% discount off their entry to specific sponsored events. This is paid back through the event committee, and not direct from Off the Track WA.

Check with the event coordinators to learn whether they have opted to provide this rebate as part of their sponsorship with Off the Track WA. Not all events will have applied for this incentive.

To compete at an Off the Track WA sponsored event, all Thoroughbred’s and Standardbreds must be claimed through the OTTWA Passport.
