OTTWA Network Retrainers

OTTWA Network Retrainers are a group of retrainers who have been successful through the application process and are recognized as professional retrainers of retired racehorses. These retrainers are independent businesses working to retrain retired racehorses in preparation for their off the track careers.

If you require assistance getting in contact with a network retrainer, contact OTTWA Administrator – Jackie Wilson – jackie.wilson@rwwa.com.au

Become a Network Retrainer

Help shape the start of a retired racehorses journey by becoming a Network Retrainer.

This operates separately from our official OTTWA program and is designed to support retrainers in sourcing, retraining, and rehoming Off The Track Thoroughbreds and Standardbreds.

Network Retrainers source horses through their own connections or with our assistance in linking them with industry participants.

We provide support to approved Network Retrainers to help with the retraining and rehoming process, and the Retrainer retains the sale price of the horse.

Additionally, the key requirements for approval as a Network Retrainer include:

  • Holding an ABN (a simple free process to acquire one if needed)
  • Carrying a minimum of $5 million in public liability insurance (often included in property insurance)
  • Retraining and rehoming at least two horses per racing season

If you currently actively work retraining Thoroughbreds or Standardsbreds straight from racing, we encourage participants to submit an expression of interest below, or for more information on the initiative, please contact offthetrackwa@rwwa.com.au

Sorry. This form is no longer accepting new submissions.
