Description:
Ricky retired from racing last year.
He is completely sound and was broken to saddle by one of the drivers who raced him.
He walks trots and canters and has done a few small jumps. He has a beautiful trot, and my granddaughter says he feels like a pony when he is trotting.
We bought him for her, but he is too much horse for her.
If I was still fit enough to ride, I would have started him in novice endurance events, where I believe he could do well.
He needs to go to a home that can show him some leadership and make the most of him.
He is very affectionate as long as he knows who is in charge. Good for the farrier and does well barefoot on reasonable ground. Like all ex-racehorses he has some quirks, but he is not nasty, although he can bluff if allowed to do so.
Asking $1500 and can add a Kincaid stock saddle for an additional $300, if interested.
