Forrest Beach WA 6271
We are a breaking and pre-training stable located in Forrest Beach, WA. Typically we have 25 horses in work at any time, mostly from the racing industry, but do have a growing number of horses from a variety of disciplines such as high level show jumping and dressage backgrounds, camp drafting, polocrosse and trail riding. We also have experience of successfully re-training racehorses on a small scale for different disciplines. We are situated in a fantastic location, nestled between the Tuart Forest and Forrest Beach, which we utilise as an integral part of our diverse training programs. We have a number of horses from Perth and the local area, and offer daily turnout in our horse rail paddocks for our horses in work, as well as spelling facilities in our larger reticulated paddocks spanning 140 acres in total. We are extremely fortunate to have a wonderful team here which complement each other, originating from Equine backgrounds from a variety of different disciplines including racing, dressage, show jumping, polocrosse, camp drafting etc. We are passionate about what we do and are very much invested in the racing industry into the future. Central to this is Equine welfare and wellbeing, and providing a life for horses after racing. This is a huge focus for us when breaking in racehorses. First and foremost, these horses need to be educated for racing, however good ground work and training in a variety of different scenarios to promote desensitisation and a well rounded, self assured horse is key to providing these animals with the opportunity for a life after racing. Although our business is focussed on introducing horses to the industry, I believe being a part of the 'Off The Track' program would be a fantastic way of promoting a life for horses beyond their racing career. To us it is a duty of care as well as a great way to compliment our business, maximise the skills of our wonderful staff and our great location. Here is a link to a recent promotional video we have made, this will give you a better idea of our facilities and what we have to offer: https://vimeo.com/811733448 Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon. Cathedral Park Farm is located approximately 250kms from Midland, Perth and provides a peaceful environment for retired race horses to let down and relax in body and mind before starting their new journey. We offer spelling agistment, re-education and coaching to assist new owners to maintain their horses education and build a great partnership with them. Set on 665 acres across two properties with an arena and round yard there is a great variety of riding options providing exercise and mental stimulation that the horses thrive on. My experience working with horses began in 1988. After breaking in a couple of horses for myself, I went on to work full time for a breaker in Perth, predominantly working with thoroughbreds. This lead me to become a track work rider in the racing industry for many years, riding in both WA and Victoria. Through working so intensely with race horses I have developed a good understanding of the issues they face when retiring from the track and I'm passionate about their rehabilitation to find a secure future. In more recent years I have also worked with standardbreds and I'm amazed by the trainability and versatility of this highly underestimated breed. Every horse that arrives here is assessed on health and temperament and the training that follows is tailored to suit each individual. I have found that horses settle in very quickly to the rural environment and they thoroughly enjoy the freedom of the large paddocks with views to the horizon.

Starting out at a very young age my mother would never buy me that ready trained pony. She would always say “the only way to become a good rider is to train them yourself”. Mum, Jan Visser who also competed and coached dressage back in her day before illness forced her to stop, spent thousands getting me lessons with the top riders in WA and international visiting coaches. I started on my first off the track horse as just 12 and boy did she teach me a lot about Thoroughbred chestnut mares! I campaigned her successfully until she was retired to be the foundation broodmare of our stud, due to injury. After she retired we were changing direction and going into breeding and training Warmbloods, I took over the ride on my Mums WB stallion Belcam Argenero I completed his training right up-to Grand Prix level. In 2000 I spent 12 months in the Netherlands here I established better knowledge of the training scales and training young horses from green broken. Over the last seven years I have been taking on a large range of clients horses to train and break in With a large % of these being OTTS. My focus is to help them get a better understanding of the basics and balance in flat work. In 2020 I started campaigning a client's off the track Standardbred, and wow has he filled my toolbox with more tools than I ever thought I would ever need. I now coach others in retraining both these breeds and will soon be taking on more to offer for sale. I will continue to campaign my Home breed Warmbloods in Dressage and Show Horse. I am also a Equine Herbalist and in the process of studying to become a Life Coach. Pictured is Kinda Black aka Harley ( STB) owned by Tracey Garth trained and campaigned by me.

I have owned thoroughbreds my entire life and have thoroughly enjoyed retraining and rehoming them after their racing careers. I only own a very small family property in Oakford with my own two off the track thoroughbreds in work at the moment, ‘Data Lake’ I was offered right after her retiring racing 16 months ago and is currently Eventing EVA95 and ‘Radiant Blue’ I have just acquired last month from ascot and hope to produce along side my mare. I have previously ridden to 2* Eventing and 125cm showjumping, I hope I can get back there and further with these off the track thoroughbreds. I have a good reputation within the racing community and trainers, I am offered horses often to retrain or rehome. To name a few Thoroughbreds I’ve rehomed to suitable families: Sodano, Meister Meister, Hot Ticketty Boo, Cry for Eternity, Phantom Choice and Court Crusader. I love the thoroughbred breed and there is so many in WA looking for their next step into life after racing

I have ridden horses for most of my life but in the last five years I've invested a lot of time in attending clinics and learning from some amazing trainers focusing on the foundations of horses and horsemanship. Recently I attended a seminar on Herd Dynamics, learning about the sensory soundness of horses. So far I have found it to be a strong tool in getting the best relationship and understanding of any equine. Thoroughbreds are highly trainable horses and I strongly believe in teaching horse and rider how to find and maintain a strong relationship, covering all basis of trauma and anxiety before refining your skills in your chosen discipline. Working with sensory soundness tools, I can increase the chances of finding you a horse who will excel in your chosen discipline instead of fighting with horses who don't have the emotional capacity for a particular job.
