Spider, as he’s known to his friends, is a big, bold horse, who has shown steady progress during his time in the OTTWA Retraining Program. He is equally as happy in the arena as out in open spaces and has proved to have some nice ability since his introduction to small show jumps and cross country obstacles. He truly enjoys his job and is naturally forward.
As Spider is a big boy, he is still finding his feet. He can become unbalanced at times and will require a knowledgeable and confident rider to get the most out of him. Spider does have ‘shivers’ so some patience is needed when picking up his back legs, however he raced successfully with this, and it hasn’t shown to be any issue from a ridden point of view.
