Description:
Expressions of Interest Invited.
Tunk retired from racing in July 2021 after four starts for one third.
Tunk is a beautiful gelding who has begun his re-education and is absolutely loving it.
Tunk has enjoyed his break after racing, and is slowly coming back into work. Tunk has three beautiful paces, however he can get strong, testing his rider a little because he’s more advance in his education than any other three-year-old I’ve ridden. He hasn’t done anything dangerous. Tunk has tried jumping. He took some convincing at first but once he gets over a jump once confidently he knows what to do. I’d like him to go to an experienced home as he’s recently retired from racing. He doesn’t like the whip but doesn’t need it as he’s quite sensitive already. Rider leg and voice cues are really sufficient.
Tunk really is a sweet and sensitive boy. He will stand for a cuddle, is good to hard or cross tie, hose, and shoe. He knows how to free lunge (outside of a round yard). He is good to catch as long as other horses in his paddock don’t run away as he can be a little bit of a sheep. Tunk is used to dogs and kids running around and traffic doesn’t faze him. Tunk is currently doing well on grass, chaff and pellets.
Please if you have any questions or would like to come meet him just send me a text or leave a message I might not always be able to get to the phone. This is a really hard sale and no fault of tunks I just have too many commitments and don’t want to see him go to waste as I think he has huge potential with the right rider.
